Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 7, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the Pips2 website at pips2.com and the Pips2 iOS app. It explains what information we process, why we use it, when service providers receive it, and the choices available to you.

Website Storage and Gameplay Data

The website may store puzzle progress, completion times, selected difficulty, and similar gameplay preferences in your browser's local storage. This information helps preserve your progress and does not identify you by name. You can remove it through your browser settings.

When you use online gameplay features, we may process puzzle ID, mode, difficulty, completion status, solve time, score, rankings, Battle results, player statistics, and a display name you choose. Display names, scores, solve times, ranks, and Battle results may be visible to other players.

iOS App Data

When you use online features in the iOS app, we create an anonymous player profile with a generated player ID, display name, selected avatar, and a secure sign-in credential stored on your device. This lets the app save progress and connect results to the same player profile.

Feedback, Support, and Technical Logs

If you send puzzle feedback or contact support, we collect the information you choose to provide. We also keep limited server and security logs, which may include IP address, request time, browser or device information, and requested URL, as needed to secure, operate, and troubleshoot the service.

Advertising and Google AdSense

The website uses Google AdSense to fund the service. Depending on your location, consent choice, and Google settings, Google may serve personalized, non-personalized, or limited ads. Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and process IP addresses or other device and browser identifiers to deliver, measure, secure, and limit the frequency of ads.

Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services, Google advertising technologies, and Google ad settings.

Analytics

The website uses Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and self-hosted Umami analytics to understand aggregate page use and feature performance. These services may receive page URL, referrer, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device details, interaction events, and identifiers or cookies used by the service.

We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, display names, feedback text, or other directly identifying information to these analytics services or to AdSense. Microsoft describes its data practices in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Consent and Privacy Choices

Where required, Pips2 uses Google's consent management platform and Consent Mode. For visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalization, and analytics storage are set to denied before Google tags run and are updated only in accordance with the consent signal supplied by the consent platform.

You can revisit your choices using the “Privacy & cookie settings” control at the bottom of the website, or open the privacy settings from the homepage. You may also clear browser storage and cookies through your browser. Some essential gameplay storage may be needed to remember progress or settings.

How We Use and Share Information

We use information to provide gameplay, save progress and statistics, operate leaderboards and Battles, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, protect the service, measure performance, and improve Pips2. Service providers may process information on our behalf for hosting, security, advertising, analytics, app distribution, and support. These providers currently include Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft, Apple, and the Pips2-operated Umami analytics service hosted at umami.mcpgood.com where their services apply.

We do not sell names, email addresses, feedback, player credentials, or gameplay profiles. Advertising partners may process identifiers for advertising as described above and according to your consent and applicable law.

Data Retention and Your Rights

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including security, dispute resolution, legal, and operational needs. Retention periods vary by data type and feature.

You can update your display name and avatar in the app and permanently delete your anonymous player profile from Settings using Delete Player Data. You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or other rights available under applicable law. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

Children

Pips 2 is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and remove it when appropriate. We do not knowingly use interest-based advertising for child-directed users.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet service can guarantee complete security, but we work to keep Pips2 safe and reliable.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Pips2 changes. The updated date at the top of this page will show when the latest version took effect.
